5-(2-Aminopropyl)indole (5-IT) is an indole derivative which is mentioned in TIHKAL as a fairly potent and long-lasting stimulant drug. It is related to several well known drugs, and can be viewed both as a structural isomer of α-MT (which is 3-(2-Aminopropyl)indole), and as a ring-substituted derivative of amphetamine. Its effects are most likely similar to those of related compounds such as IAP, 5-APDB and NAP.
This is the 5-isomer, 5-(2-aminopropyl)indole or 5-IT, which, at 20 milligrams orally, is a long-lived stimulant producing increased heart-rate, anorexia, diuresis, and slight hyperthermia for about twelve hours.
